Formula 1 Drive to Survive 2020: Will Netflix release the next season of Drive to Survive; a web series that gave new rise to Formula 1.

Netflix’s original Drive to survive in two seasons gave massive popularity to the sport, a fact even confessed by F1’s managing director Ross Brawn and Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo.

Even Formula 1’s subreddit r/formula1 claimed that a huge chunk of its new followers watched their first Grand Prix during Austria 2020, showing the immense contribution of the documentary series.

Therefore, Netflix would be a fool to shelve off such a promising project. Drive to Survive or simply DTS is a series of 2 seasons so far on Netflix, which gives elaborate and backstage stories of an F1 season and have covered 2018 and 2019 season.

The series also covers the personal lives of the drivers and give an emotional touch to their viewers by making it as personal as possible, so that the fans can know their racers.

Therefore, this experiment has worked with the fans, as per Forbes, ranking the most popular Netflix documentaries in the UK by their reach puts Drive to Survive in tenth place.

Formula 1 Drive to Survive 2020

Even though Netflix hasn’t confirmed the news, but the end of season 2 totally gave a signal that the organization will keep the project for another season at least.

Though, the threat over F1 season due to the COVID-19 spread endangered season 3 of it. But as, per the RaceFans, a small Netflix crew was spotted shooting McLaren and Red Bull during the Austrian GP.

Meanwhile, Netflix also produced content as Williams’ George Russel informed on social media stream he was using a camera gather material for them during the Virtual Grand Prix series.
