"He does not need any advice"- Charles Leclerc after watching Carlos Sainz in Ferrari

“He does not need any advice”- Charles Leclerc after watching his new teammate Carlos Sainz in a Ferrari car during the Fiorano test.

Carlos Sainz was set to give Ferrari the first on-track performance this week, putting in laps while driving the three-year-old SF71H at Fiorano on Wednesday.

For Sainz, it was a delightful experience; on the other hand, Charles Leclerc thinks that the Spaniard is already ready to perform for Ferrari this year.

“If he has come this far, I think he does not need any advice,” Grandpx.news quotes the Monégasque as having said. “He knows perfectly well what he is doing, and this is a day for him to gain confidence with the team.

“I know the team a little more, and that’s it. I have been observing him today (Wednesday), and I can only wish him the best of luck.”

It was an extensive programme.

Leclerc explained that the Wednesday test would help Sainz, as the procedures for 2018 are highly similar to the present date. Meanwhile, Sainz felt that he underwent an extensive schedule.

“I was eager to jump in the car, and that first installation lap was exciting,” he said. “Then we got down to work, and I am very pleased with how the day unfolded. We were able to get through an extensive programme.

“I was able to familiarise myself with the whole setup: the engineers and mechanics, the steering wheel, the procedures which are obviously a bit different to those on the car I drove last season.”

Along with Sainz and Leclerc, Robert Schwartzman, Giuliano Alesi, Callum Ilott, and Mick Schumacher were also reported to be involved in the test session at Fiorano, ahead of the 2021 season.
