“Leclerc realised that he also has a lot to learn from Sainz”- Italian media reports after Ferrari test session at Fiorano last week.
Carlos Sainz has finally blended himself in Ferrari’s colours, as his first on-track appearance for the team. Even at the age of 26, he boasts a decorated portfolio of six years at F1 with three different teams.
Naturally, he is more aware of his capabilities and learnt from his experiences. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc will enter in his fourth season as an F1 driver, yet he feels that he needs to learn few things from Sainz, as per the Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport.
“What struck him, in particular, was the accuracy that the Spaniard puts into the study of details, which is the result of hard work. Carlos is building himself up as a champion, day after day, and this distinguishes him from the other Carletto.”
“Charles, who, although a hard worker – always among the first to show up in the paddock and among the last to leave – can rely on an innate talent,” Corriere Dello Sport wrote on Thursday.
Carlos Sainz too good with Ferrari
It was observed by the publication that the Spaniard had a good outing with 2018 F1 car. His alertness and efficiency with the car weren’t expected, considering, it was his first experience with any Ferrari F1 car.
“Those are things you don’t expect from a driver who is coming out for his team for the first time, especially months before the start of the championship”.
“Leclerc, having plundered Sebastian Vettel’s experience, has thus realised that he also has a lot to learn from Sainz’s meticulousness. And it is only positive that he will discover this further opportunity for growth.”
Sainz will represent the Tifosi for the main F1 test at Bahrain, followed by the season’s first Grand Prix.
