Lewis Hamilton has no shortage of celebrity friends and one of them is the Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise. However, their friendship has taken a hit recently after Cruise and Hamilton reportedly got involved in a love triangle with Shakira.
The Mercedes driver shares such a close friendship with Cruise that the actor had even asked Hamilton to play a part in the movie Top Gun Maverick. Even though Hamilton denied the role, he described Cruise as “One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.”

However, as per reports, the rumors of Hamilton and Shakira dating have left a bad taste in Cruise’s mouth. The American star was spotted hanging out with Shakira during the Miami GP. But ever since then, Shakira has gotten cozy with Hamilton on multiple occasions, leading to widespread speculations that the Latina star is dating the Mercedes star.
Tom Cruise was ‘stung’ by Hamilton’s moves
According to the Pop Hive, Cruise was frustrated after he learned about the Hamilton-Shakira saga. Furthermore, as Mirror quoted Radar Online, “It was a huge dent to Tom’s ego, it stung all the more because he considers Lewis a buddy.”
Pop Hive also claimed that Cruise was very sure about him and Shakira dating soon. The 60-year-old actor told his friends that he had incredible chemistry with Shakira.

Even though neither Hamilton nor Shakira has confirmed anything about their relationship, fans went to the lengths of attacking Shakira’s ex Gerard Pique over a 10-year-old tweet that he had made about Hamilton. Pique had posted the tweet in 2012 celebrating a DNF for Hamilton.
Tom Cruise’s interest in Shakira
Ever since Tom Cruise was first spotted hanging out with Shakira, it was reported that the actor had immediately taken an interest in her. Page Six reported during the time, “He is extremely interested in pursuing her.”

However, according to The Sun, Tom Cruise put off Shakira by being too straightforward. The British Tabloid quoted, “Tom is an all-or-nothing character. He goes from zero to 100. His friends have gently advised that he’d do well to dial it back.”
And after this, Shakira allegedly got together with Lewis Hamilton. This will put a dent in the friendship between Hamilton and Cruise.
