Lewis Hamilton Finally Responds to Infamous Hashtag on Twitter With Latest Social Media Post
Lewis Hamilton has finally decided to address the issue concerning him, on social media recently. With an Instagram post, the Mercedes star finally put an end to the infamous hashtag that was going around by his name.
F1 Twitter has been hot after the cancellation of the 2023 Imola GP lat week. Heavy rainfall in the northern Italian region severely affected the Emilia-Romagna region. It affected the lives of locals living around the circuit, which is why the race ended up getting scrapped from the schedule.
After the Grand Prix was canceled, the biggest names of the F1 fraternity came up and contributed to the ongoing relief efforts in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy.
Hamilton played his part by supporting the cancellation of the race. But, a part of the fanbase had other ideas. A hashtag going by the name ‘#WhereWasLewisHamiltonWhen’ began circulating all over social media.
This is because the seven-time world champion was nowhere to be seen in the Imola region. To this, the Silver Arrows ace had a befitting answer.
Lewis Hamilton stops controversy with a social media post
The 38-year-old on Sunday, reshared a video from AlphaTauri’s official Instagram account. In the video, the Japanese talked about how bad the situation at Emilia Romagna was and asked for donations if possible.

The British driver shared this video from his official Instagram account with the caption saying, “A big up to @yukitsunoda0511 and team for leading by example and helping out on the ground.”
This video also had supportive messages from renowned personalities. This includes Luca Dotto, Candela Pelizza, Wyclef Jean, Nyck de Vries, Fabio Borini, Santi Francesi, Pascal Siakam, Lindsey Vonn, and many more.
How did the hashtag come into existence?
As Formula 1 and Scuderia Ferrari did their bits by donating $1 million each to the rescue operation, AlphaTauri star Yuki Tsunoda went a step ahead to help the team, officials and locals in the rescue operation in Faenza. Tsunoda was on ground in the town of Faenza, helping the locals with whatever they needed.
But, Hamilton who’s known for his advocacy and kind nature wasn’t there. Instead, the seven-time world champion was spotted at a launch party of Hailey Bieber’s skincare brand, Rhode.
This was when a part of the fanbase decided to mock Lewis Hamilton on the internet. Hamilton’s fans, however, rose to the occasion and strongly defended him.
Now they’re blaming him for not being in a country that’s flooded and sweeping the streets, but no word to any of the drivers and pundits who were already there and didn’t do anything 💀
