The production of Lewis Hamilton-led F1 film starring Brad Pitt has come to a ‘shut down’ after the Hollywood superstar refused to act. Recently, the making of the $140,000,000 F1 movie progressed to some extent at the British Grand Prix. Still, amidst the ongoing actors and writers strike happening in Hollywood, the F1 movie directed by Joseph Kosinski is rumored to come to a halt as per a close source to Brad Pitt.
Several distinguished projects have stopped following the strike held by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The union has gone on strike for the first time since the 1980s. The dispute is over the pay and use of AI in production.
Projects like Christopher Nolan’s upcoming masterpiece ‘Oppenheimer’ has also been affected by the protest after several actors walked out and voted for the cause of SAG-AFTRA. Pitt, a loyal union member, has followed in the footsteps and taken the necessary steps for the cause, as reported by racingnews365.
The release of the F1 film is to be pushed back
The F1 film, which is being produced by Lewis Hamilton and the rights of which has been acquired by Apple studios, has not been titled yet. Some of the movie’s filming occurred at the Silverstone track, where Brad Pitt and co-star Damson Idris ran through the track with a mock 11th team known as ‘APX GP.’
The actors were also reported to have attended the drivers’ meeting with the F1 drivers and were present on the track over the weekend. Even though the work on the movie was progressing with full power, it seems like the release would be pushed further following the strike.
Meanwhile, as the movie might have stopped until further notice due to Pitt’s allegiance to the union, the Oscar-winning star was spotted attending the Wimbledon men’s singles finals between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
Brad Pitt enjoying his time at the Wimbledon finals
With his forthcoming F1 movie halted, the Academy Award winner superstar has not stepped out of England since last weekend’s British GP. After strolling around the F1 grid for his movie, Pitt has headed to the Wimbledon finals.
Although he is not the only star attending the world’s greatest sports event, the center court has stars such as James Bond actor Daniel Craig and international pop star Ariana Grande.
One of the pictures from the match has gone viral on the internet as fans are left wondering how a photographer can capture these many celebrities in one shot.
