Party Mode F1: Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff believes ban on engine mode will help them in performance

Mercedes F1 news: Toto Wolff has confirmed that he wants to continue, along with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

Mercedes is one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history since it entered in the 1954 French Grand Prix. Since then, the German outfit, but based out of the United Kingdom, has won 6 Constructors and 8 Drivers Championship.

All six of their Constructor titles have been won in their last six seasons, highlighting their dominance over F1 at present. Not just that, they are set to win the title this season for the seventh consecutive time.

Mercedes to announce Toto Wolff ‘wedding’ soon

Team Principal Toto Wolff has spoken about the contract situation with Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and himself. And to the relief of the Mercedes faithful, he has confirmed the ‘foursome’ is set to continue next season.

This is crucial as there were suggestions that Toto Wolff could switch to Aston Martin after he bought a stake in the automobile company.” he further said.

“We will announce the wedding soon. Mercedes, myself, Lewis and Valtteri – the foursome.”

“That is what we would like to do. There is no reason to dissolve it.”

The Austrian business tycoon also spoke about the tyre failures on both Hamilton and Bottas’ cars at Silverstone, which cost the latter precious podium points.

He refused to put the blame on their DAS system, which was a hot topic at the start of the season and saw Red Bull protest against the use of it.

Meanwhile, Pirelli boss Mario Isola has confirmed a thorough investigation is ongoing to figure out the causes of the tyre failures. Carlos Sainz, Hamilton and Bottas suffered from the same issue during the last three laps yesterday at the British GP.

“We are investigating whether the soft choice for the next race will be re-evaluated. If it was debris, that’s obviously different.”
