Lebron James Converts Lewis Hamilton Into a Lakers Fan Just a Year After Golden State Warriors Loyalty

LeBron James has done it again. After sending Stephen Curry and the Warriors back home, he finds himself in a familiar place- the Conference Finals. And his F1 counterpart, Lewis Hamilton, was there to witness it all. King James in all his glory.

However, it was not long ago that Hamilton had high acclaim for the 2022 NBA champions. Last year as Curry wore his fourth ring, Hamilton cheered on for the Warriors. The four long-time legends of the team, De Andre Johnson, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, led by Steph Curry- were “Legends” in the eyes of the F1 champ.

However, after LeBron won the race against Curry to try to grab a fifth ring, Hamilton switched allegiances. Sitting in the Crypto Arena, Hamilton became a Lakers fan. But can you blame him?

On his Instagram stories, Hamilton showed off his view from the courtside seats, summing up his experience: “Great night to be a Lakers fan.” He also reserved a special shout-out to the man leading the charge. Posting a picture of LeBron James in beast mode, Hamilton added, “Killed it, bro.”

Surely there are no picking sides between Curry and James. Both players have absolutely outdone themselves this season, especially during the playoffs. The Warriors-Lakers face-off had many memorable moments, with each team showcasing their very best, but in the end, only the greats survive.

Lewis Hamilton looks to LeBron James for retirement inspiration

Both titans of the sports have been engulfed with talks of retirement owing to their age. But if there’s one thing both the 38-year-olds share, it’s that the number doesn’t come close to defining them.

While LeBron James has enjoyed a season for the history books, Hamilton has struggled. The car has been far from competitive, and is only fueling the retirement debate. However, Hamilton finds inspiration in his NBA friend, who continues to defy the odds.

Talking to ESPN, Hamilton shut down the chatter surrounding his exit. “I’m not at the end of my career, I’m not in the downhill slope of my career. I’m in my prime.”

Using LeBron and Tom Brady as examples, Hamilton continued, “If you look at LeBron [James], if you look at Tom Brady, they have shown that it can be sustained for as long as you are dedicated enough to put the energy and time in.”

Thus, Hamilton is far from hanging his helmet. And LeBron? The season has said enough. It should be nothing but an honor to witness this legacy in real-time.
