"Roast his team so publicly"– Christian Horner disagrees with Toto Wolff's behaviour to his team after Azerbaijan

“Roast his team so publicly”– Christian Horner disagrees with the methods of Toto Wolff pushing his team under the bus after Azerbaijan defeat,

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner had an amazing outing in Azerbaijan; not only his team took 26 points from the race, but he also witnessed Mercedes having a disaster class race.

To rub the salt on Wolff, Horner now remarked for him; personally, it is unacceptable to expose the team’s poor performance, but at the same time, he also said that it’s Wolff’s prerogative to keep what kind of approach.

“It is not only the incident at the end, that frustrates, it’s overall not meeting our own expectations. All of us together: Lewis [Hamilton], the engineers, myself, everybody in the team.” said Wolff after the race.

Horner, in response, said he was surprised by Wolff’s comments; these words by Horner came especially after when both Mercedes and Red Bull’s representatives have been involved in a war of words with the Flexi wing controversy.

“I mean, a lot has been made about Toto’s comments this weekend,” explained Horner, who had been called a bit of a ‘windbag’ by Wolff. He’s never afraid to roast his team so publicly, which I disagree with. But that’s his prerogative.”

Will not let any chance slip.

Despite Max Verstappen losing on to his win in the Azerbaijan GP with a tyre failure, Red Bull managed to extend its lead over Mercedes courtesy to Perez’s win and Lewis Hamilton’s tyre failure. Now Horner wants no slip-ups from here.

“It looked like we’re going to do a bit more damage than we ended up doing, but we’ve just got to grab our opportunities when they present themselves,” he said.

“It goes in swings and roundabouts,” he said. “Max could have come out of the weekend putting 10 or 11 points into his championship lap with the fastest lap if it had finished where it was with five to go. So he could have been 15 up.

“He’s still four up, but at one point, he was looking like he could be 21 down if Lewis had nicked the victory. So, it’s swings and roundabouts, and I think it’s going to do this, while the cars’ performance is so close, throughout this championship.

“That makes it so exciting to be a part of. It just motivates everybody in the team to a whole new energy level.”
