Seeing Lewis Hamilton being called 'Sir', Tyson Fury demands 'Crown' from the Royal Family

It is not the first time that Boxing Heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has taken a swipe at 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Earlier he had accused Hamilton of being a tax evader and now in a recent interview with Telegraph, Fury has stated that he wants something different and bigger than what the F1 star has been honoured with.

A little while ago, Manchester United star Wayne Rooney said that Fury should receive the knighthood for his legendary accolades in boxing. But the 34-year-old Briton does not want a knighthood because according to him far too many people already have it.

Speaking exclusively to the Telegraph, Fury said that a few sportspeople already have a knighthood such as Sir Mo Farah, Sir Andy Murray, Sir Lewis Hamilton and Sir Steve Redgrave. Therefore, he’d like to be honoured with something that no one has ever had, in the world of sports.

“I’m a normal man but a limited edition, so I’d like something different. Maybe King Charles could make me the Emperor of the North of England,” he further added.

Tyson Fury labelled Lewis Hamilton as a tax evader

With the legacy that Hamilton has created in F1 emulating Michael Schumacher’s 7 championship titles and 91 race wins, he will go down as one of the greats of F1. But he also gets mocked on several issues and controversies by his own compatriots.

In 2020, when Fury was not listed in the late Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year’s Honours list, he complained about a lack of recognition despite being Britain’s one of the most accomplished athlete.

Taking a sly jibe at Hamilton[who did make it to the list], Fury said, “Unlike Hamilton, I live and pay taxes which went up to £9 million.”

Despite these comments, when Fury retained his WBC heavyweight championship title in 2021, Hamilton said that he has huge respect for The Gypsy King regardless of what he said about him[Hamilton].

Fury is Team Max Verstappen

Furthermore, the 34-year-old boxer also took sides in the 2021 controversial Abu Dhabi GP fiasco between Hamilton and Verstappen.

Since many believed that the 7-time world champion has been robbed of his record 8th title, his rival Max Verstappen received heavy criticism from all around the world.

Fury was one of the fans who jumped into the defence of the Dutchman. In an Instagram post, he said that Verstappen is being made a bit of a bad boy. “Give him a bit of break – he’s only a young lad trying his best,” Fury said.
