Lewis Hamilton and Shakira recently lined up after the Spanish GP, fueling the fires of their alleged relationship together. However, Shakira’s ex, Gerard Pique was supposedly at the event as well. Now, while that might be an awkward situation for the Queen of Latin Pop, Pique might be in a similar situation as well.
Turns out, the Spanish driver hasn’t been a big Lewis Hamilton fan. Ignoring the man with seven titles and a record-breaking legacy in the sport, Pique cheered on for someone closer to home- Spanish F1 poster boy, Fernando Alonso.
Fans have dug up a tweet from 2012, where Pique ravishes in Alonso’s overtake on Hamilton at the Singapore GP. Alonso, in Ferrari colors, was the championship leader that year and had finished 3rd on the podium that race. Hamilton had to end his race early owing to gearbox issues.
Watching the drama unfold, Pique took his excitement to Twitter to say, “Hamilton OUT! Alonso is flying now!”
In hindsight, fans have laughed at Pique’s celebration of Hamilton’s failure, as the now biggest name in the sport is associated with his ex-wife.

As the tweet goes viral, fans have taken the opportunity to spam Pique’s notifications with tweets in reminder of how his fate turned out. Images and GIFs of Hamilton flooded the comments of the tweet, Team LH44 relentless in their endeavor.

Shakira finds Hamilton a year after Gerard Pique split
Pique cheating on Shakira was one of the biggest conversations in 2022. Cheating allegations, cryptic Instagram posts, and viral songs later, Shakira has found the good heart of Hamilton.
In May, Hamilton and Shakira were spotted chilling together after the Miami GP. This included a yacht trip, surfing, dinner, and even some good ol’ curb-side chatter in Hamilton’s car.
Excited to see the cute couple cozying up to each other, the singer’s appearance at the Spanish GP fired things up. Not only was she credited for inspiring Hamilton’s results that weekend, but the duo were also once again spotted at a dinner after the race.
A fairytale in the making, sadly for now, that’s all it is- a fairytale. There is yet to be solid evidence or confirmation from both parties that whatever they share is mere friendship. However, F1 fans sure have their fingers crossed that Shakira is the next F1 WAG to walk the paddock
