Ferrari Aero Linchpin Unveils Development Problems That Gave Red Bull a Free Run to Glory

Red Bull has been on one of the most dominating runs in the history of F1. The team is undefeated in the last 23 races in the sport, with Mercedes’ George Russell being the last non-Red Bull driver to win a GP. The reason behind the domination has also been due to a lack of challenge from the rest of the grid. With Ferrari’s performances in 2022, they were seen as the frontrunners to take the fight to Red Bull. However, the reality could not be more different. Formula Passion now reports how a Ferrari Aero Linchpin reveals the reason behind its collapse.

Ferrari’s latest F1 car, the SF-23, has been far from ideal since the season started. The team has seen extremely disappointing performances, as they have secured only three podiums so far. Nonetheless, they have identified where their problems lie and are working on improvements for the 2024 season.

Ferrari Aero Linchpin pinpoints where the team’s problems lie

Seeing what Ferrari achieved in 2022, fans and experts believed they were on track to return to winning ways and pose a serious threat to the title. After seeing their dismal performances in the latest season, everyone wondered what was wrong with the team. Formula Passion now reports that they know what is exactly wrong with the car.

“Developing this car, we realized that some choices limited the aerodynamic development. The next car will not be an evolution of this one like the SF-23 was of the F1-75. Chassis and rear will be different to favor aerodynamic development.”

With a poorly developed car, there is almost no hope for the team to improve this season as they have. The Maranello-based outfit seems to have its eyes set on the next few campaigns. However, Charles Leclerc believes the team will not have better luck in the coming two seasons either.

Leclerc believes Red Bull will continue to dominate until 2026

In a recent interview, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc mentioned that he does  not see any team posing a threat to Red Bull’s title ambitions until the 2026 season. The Austrian team remains unbeaten this season and is the favorite to win all the remaining races so far this campaign.

With new rules such as more electric power, a fuel change, and more horsepower, the teams will have more room for improvement. As such, Red Bull’s dominant run could see its end with the onset of new regulations. Until then, the prancing horse will hope to improve their performances and try to be the second-best team on the grid.
