Watch: $125 Million Worth Charles Leclerc Was Once Scammed To Pay for 'Free Massage'

Like any other top athlete, Charles Leclerc makes the most of his time visiting around the world when he is not competing. The Monegasque recently had his Winter training + retreat in the Alps in Northern Italy.

At times, he even goes out vacationing during the summer break, which falls right in the middle of the season and spans almost the entire month of August.

Well, when nine months of a hectic schedule bring loads of flights, hardly those drivers manage to explore a new place. But a holiday gives them that scope. Especially where they are relatively unknown, which gives them the ideal time away from F1.

A free massage offer once scammed Charles Leclerc

Leclerc can be seen taking a massage on the street in a video that resurfaced online. At that time, he was in Bali, Indonesia and was well within the realms of Formula 1.

So why not a massage to relax? Especially when it’s for free. However, after taking the massage, he was asked by the masseuse for money. Puzzled by the previous claim of it being free, the Monegasque enquired why they were asking for money when it was supposed to be free.

In response, the lady said that looking at it was for free. The incident was hilarious for the $125 million worth of F1 driver. Though, there is no way he didn’t intend to pay her and conspicuously looked like he was just having some fun.

Waiting for the 2023 challenge

In 2022, Leclerc, for the first time, genuinely contended for the title. However, his pursuit for it ended soon enough as Max Verstappen in the last year’s Red Bull was unstoppable.

The Dutch race driver recorded 15 wins last season, the highest win tally in a year ever. But the recent reports signal that the Ferrari’s Project 675 is showing a one-second improvement on the simulator compared to its predecessor, F1-75, which had a mighty pace.

They have also reportedly gained 30 HP in their engine, deemed the highest among all manufacturers. Therefore, he would be entering the season with some solid projections.

Surely, Ferrari would be desperate to clinch a title this year, and Leclerc being their de-facto lead driver like last year, would be expected to take them to the glory if he has all the right weapons. Now it remains to be seen how the next season unfolds.
