'We are not friends'- Nikita Mazepin shares cold relationship with Mick Schumacher

‘We are not friends’- Nikita Mazepin shares about the cold relationship with his new teammate at Haas Mick Schumacher.

Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher are going to be the only rookie duo in Formula 1 ahead of the 2021 season. However, as per the report by the Daily Mail, the duo doesn’t share a concrete bond even though both know each other since their karting days.

Mazepin, who was recently involved in a humungous controversy reveals that they aren’t friends and doesn’t care about his last name. Contrary to the claim made by Mick Schumacher.

The German said recently: ‘He was very nice and there was healthy respect between us as teammates. Then we lost touch with each other a bit and of course, we have both changed since then.’

However, the Russian has pointed towards a colder situation between the two, telling Russian channel Match TV this week: ‘We are not friends. At most, we are old acquaintances as we raced together in karts.’

‘I honestly don’t care about his name. Because of the name, he will have more power, but also more pressure. But when I lower the visor, I don’t think about these things anyway.’

While Schumacher revealed a diplomatic stance to his apparent relationship with his teammate, but on the other hand, his contemporary gave a cold shoulder answer.

Already Mazepin is infamous among F1 fans after the alleged groping incident which upraised the demand of removal of Mazepin from Haas, even before his first appearance in Formula 1.

Though, Haas placed that incident under the covers by ordering an internal investigation with results not being disclosed in the public. Whereas, FIA also avoided the situation and remained silent, even when fans demanded a step to be made by them.
