“We have a really good relationship” – Yuki Tsunoda highlights chemistry between drivers in Red Bull stable
“We have a really good relationship” – AlphaTauri rookie Yuki Tsunoda is learning and drawing inspiration from the likes of Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly, as he tries to overcome a difficult start to his F1 career.
Yuki Tsunoda has had a difficult start to his journey with AlphaTauri, scoring just nine points so far in the same number of outings. He has help in the form of another Red Bull recruit Sergio Perez, though, who is guiding him, given the vast experience the Mexican has in the sport.
“Sergio gives me a lot of advice. Especially like in France and also Monaco, he gave me messages after I had a really bad weekend, he messaged me advice and also offered some positive words to me, to make me motivated.
“So, I have thanks to Sergio. We have four drivers in Red Bull and we have a really good relationship. I am going to keep pushing to improve and be inspired by them.”

Tsunoda learning from Gasly
The Honda-backed Japanese driver also has for inspiration teammate Pierre Gasly, who is having a stellar season. Tsunoda is keenly observing Gasly’s data, videos and radio communication, trying to pick up elements for his assistance.
“I don’t get direct advice from Pierre – when we chat it’s not about racing.
“I just watch him for data and I can see how he is approaching on video or radio, so I am watching those things to improve myself, to inspire from him and just if there is anything that I can take, I also take to try.”
