“We used a new, very aggressive setup”- Sebastian Vettel on what caused an unexpected spin on his car in the session on Friday.
Sebastian Vettel gave a scary sight to Kevin Magnussen who witnessed the German driver spinning in front of him, but escaped crashing into him, because of the good presence of mind applied by Vettel.

Vettel, on the other hand, explained that a new experiment by Ferrari somewhere caused a spin, which was a bit aggressive and for what they weren’t ready beforehand.
“We used a new, very aggressive setup. We wanted to take more risk,” he explains to Motorsport-Total.com. “But I don’t think this was the right way to go. That’s why we need to prepare well for the rest of the weekend”.
“Then I think we were a little too cheeky and tried something that didn’t work.” he further said. But because of this, Vettel also thinks that he expects a great performance in the qualifying.
“If all goes well Q1 shouldn’t be such a problem. At the moment it is difficult to say if we have enough for Q3, also because it was such a crazy session. I think it will go better on Saturday,” said Vettel.
Sebastian Vettel at the twilight of his career with Ferrari
Vettel is announced to join Aston Martin for the 2021 season and will be replaced by McLaren’s Carlos Sainz after the end of the season. Vettel’s relationship with Ferrari was an iconic journey and he would be looking ahead to make the most out of his time with the team.
Ferrari meanwhile is looking a future with Charles Leclerc, who is expected to make a massive influence in the sport in the near future. It remains to be seen how the partnership between Sainz and Leclerc will fold.
