F1 News: Why F1 teams are upset with rising number of fans?

As much business and popularity as the increasing number of fans have brought to the F1, there is also a demerit that the teams are suffering.

The huge number of fans attending the races has the F1 teams struggling to get seats for themselves to travel on a race weekend. And if the seats are available the teams are forced to pay double the amount.

Multiple F1 teams have highlighted these problems. Some have even chosen to restrict the number of staff that they can move between the races.

The Alfa Romeo F1 team thinks 2023 is too expensive

AMuS reports Beat Zehnder, who is the sporting director of the Alfa Romeo F1 racing team, explaining that each year his team is paying 25% more than the previous year.

He further revealed that it is getting more difficult every year. With Austin GP being already fully booked for 2023, the team tried to book 10 additional rooms at the hotel but had no luck.

Furthermore, he explained that it is even hard to find a seat on flights the day after the race. Zehnder complained that the calendar could not have been put much more expensively.

Haas F1 team to restrict the number of staff they can rotate in 2023

Furthermore, Zehnder is not the only one with complaints about the issue. Haas F1 team boss also highlighted the problem saying that they do not have as much money to spare as the big teams. Therefore it will be harder for them to move logistics.

With F1 set to run a record 24-race calendar in 2023, staff welfare has become a major talked-about issue in the teams.

Long working hours combined with increasing travel demands have proved to be an enlarging obstacle for the teams to manage.

Some teams at the front of the grid who have more funds to spare have staffs they can move from race to race based on departments and it helps them keep their employees fresh.

But teams like Haas don’t have the option to rate their staff. They will only shuffle between a few people but the main mechanics and engineers will remain the same.
