The Feast of the Departed Warriors is a combat event that specializes in rewarding players based on their team strength and combat abilities. The rewards consist of Primogems and Talent books along with other common rewards like EXP materials and Enhancement Ore. Some old players may find it familiar to face the combat interface as the event is a rerun of the version 1.6 event called ” Legend of the Vagabond Sword”. The following are the details of the event:

  • Duration: June 14, 2023- June 26, 2023

The challenge will have four types of level multipliers, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Expert. The base points gained by clearing each difficulty level without any filters are 500, 750, 1250, and 2500. Further filters include decreasing challenge target time and buffing the enemies to gain more points over the base points. Finally, there’s an option to select three buffs called Tempos to aid the players during the battle.

Feast of the Departed Warriors Stage 1: Thundering Grief

The first stage of the event is called the Descaling: Thundering Grief and features the Thunder Manifestation. The enemy is resistant to Electro, it is of utmost necessity to bring characters of Pyro, Cryo, or Dendro. Additionally, the Thunder Manifestation can also fly, thus ranged characters like Bow and Catalyst users can grant a bit of easier gameplay. Players who aren’t used to fighting the boss can also bring shielders or healers to survive the fight.

Combat:

In this stage, the boss, Crackling Thunder Manifestation, will be able to deal damage to the players using its attacks and Electro pillars called ‘Strike Probes’. Once players go near a Strike Probe or get attacked by the Thunder Manifestation, they will get locked onto by the boss. A symbol will appear on the locked character and the enemy will now attack more frequently. Players can break the Strike Probes by dealing Elemental Reaction damage to them.

Team recommendations:

  • Yoimiya + Zhongli + Bennett + Xingqiu
  • Ganyu + Zhongli + Bennett + Kazuha
  • Childe + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha
  • Yelan + Nahida + Collei + Kokomi

Recommended Tempos

  • Normal Attack DMG and ATK SPD buff
  • Shockwave due to Electro-related reaction trigger
  • Character Movement SPD and Sprint Stamina buff
  • Elemental Skill and Burst buff

The next phase of the event is named Piety: Calamity of Blazing Steel and introduces the Aeonblight Drake- Heavy Assault Pack as the new enemy. Much like the previous adversary, the Aeonblight Drake can launch aerial attacks, hence it is advisable to assemble a team of ranged characters for effective combat.

Combat:

As mentioned, the Aeonblight Drake will launch both ground and aerial attacks. It can also periodically unleash a wave of energy that will increase the resistance of the enemy against the element it last suffered elemental DMG from. For instance, if you attack the Drake with Electro, it will gain Electro RES during its next Energy Surge. Players might be relieved to know that the resistance won’t stack up and will reset to a new Elemental RES in the next Energy Surge.

During its flight, the Aeonblight Drake will gain a shield and its Physical and Elemental RES will increase. During this stage, four cores of the Drake will also be exposed, which are its weak points. Subsequently, attack the weak points quickly to bring the enemy down and paralyze it. Thus, a bow character is needed for this. Save all your bursts for the Aeonblight Drake when it is paralyzed.

Team recommendations:

  • Ganyu + Zhongli + Bennett + Kazuha
  • Childe + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha
  • Yoimiya + Zhongli + Xiangling + Xingqiu
  • Itto + Zhongli + Gorou + Albedo

Recommended Tempos:

  • Normal Attack DMG and ATK SPD buff
  • CRIT Rate + CRIT DMG buff on hitting weak points
  • Character Movement SPD and Sprint Stamina buff

The Twined Dragonheirs stage consists of the Booming Bathysmal Vishap Herd, which includes two enemies the blue Vishap and the purple Bathysmal Vishap, which are found in Enkanomiya in the overworld.

Combat:

The Vishaps will appear in a pair and both of them need to be defeated. During combat, it will unleash AoE attacks called Cleansing Shower. When the Cleansing Shower hits a character, they will lose some part of their Elemental Energy. If they don’t have sufficient energy, they will lose HP instead.

It is of utmost importance that players fight this battle in proper rhythm and that they defeat both the Vishaps within a short period. If players fail to defeat another Vishap in a short period after defeating the first one, the first one will be revived.

Team recommendations:

  • Ayato + Nahida + Kokomi + Kuki Shinobu
  • Yelan + Nahida + Nilou + Kazuha
  • Nahida + Yae Miko + Raiden + Collei

Recommended Tempos:

  • Elemental Mastery buff
  • HP gain from Elemental Skill or Burst
  • Elemental Burst DMG buff
  • Party members deal extra DMG based on the number of characters of different Elemental Types

Stage 4: Three-Realm Banquet of Stillness

(Image via HoYoverse)

The last stage is quite different from the last three stages in its rules and gameplay. It features all three enemies featured in the past three stages. This might seem quite challenging at first but it can be cleared quite easily with the right strategy.

Combat:

Players will have the opportunity to select a total of eight characters at the start of the combat. Four of these characters can be selected on the team during each fight of this stage. The three stages feature the Thunder Manifestation, the Aeonblight Drake, and the twined Vishaps respectively. Players can select only a fixed set of debuffs and Tempo buffs that will apply to all three rounds in this stage.

Team + Standby characters recommendations:

Once an opponent is defeated, they will have the opportunity to change their team and select any character from the eight characters they had selected. The following are some character recommendations for teams that can be selected with the help of the team recommendations for individual enemies mentioned above.

  • Yoimiya + Zhongli + Bennett + Kazuha + Xingqiu + Raiden Shogun + Nahida + Nilou
  • Tartaglia + Nahida + Kuki Shinobu + Zhongli + Ayato + Bennett + Xiangling + Kazuha

Recommended Tempos:

  • Normal Attack DMG and ATK SPD buff
  • Elemental Mastery buff
  • Elemental Burst DMG buff
  • Party members deal extra DMG based on the number of characters of different Elemental Types

Players should also keep in mind that they can always use Food to increase buffs like ATK or DEF. The NRE gadget can be very useful during combats. Also, you can invite other players in Co-Op mode if you don’t have a proper team yet. Finally, make sure to not push yourself too hard for all the rewards and focus on the Primogems if a higher score is difficult.
