Fernando Alonso reacts to Red Bull rumours
Red Bull have been put into a difficult situation by Daniel Ricciardo, after announcing his shock move away from the Milton Keynes team to Renault.
Ever since the Australian’s switch, multiple drivers have been associated with Red Bull for that vacant seat.
At first, it seemed like Sainz would be the obvious replacement, being under Red Bull contract.
However, multiple reports suggest that Sainz could be the last option for Red Bull, as the team doesn’t want a tense situation between Max and him, like the one that they had during their Toro Rosso days in 2015 and early 2016.
Gasly is another option that Red Bull are weighing, and his experience with the Honda engine could probably work in his favour.
But the craziest silly season rumour has been about Fernando Alonso joining Red Bull, something that even Christian Horner addressed yesterday in the ‘Beyond the Grid’ podcast.
“I have got huge respect for Fernando. He’s a great driver, a fantastic driver,” Horner said.
“But I think it’s very difficult to see… he tends to cause a bit of chaos wherever he’s gone. I’m not sure it would be the healthiest thing for the team for Fernando to join the team.” he added.
And after those rather ‘insensitive’ statements from Horner, Alonso has come up with a reply of his own.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!! definitely one of the best things ever!!! Summer hit !!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. #fromlastweekNothanks https://t.co/IaFD3tIMh4

Alonso was largely frustrated with the Honda engine in the last few years and thus wouldn’t really have even considered a move to Red Bull, who have taken the leap of faith from Renault to Honda.
Alonso isn’t the one to be messed around with a lot.
