Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores patch 1.22 fixes progression and reward unlocks

Just one week after release, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores has received a bug fix update. The major expansion comes one year after the game’s release, introducing new enemies, allies, and even a potential love interest for Aloy. While most players are getting through the expansion without a hitch, progression issues are plaguing some users. Update 1.22 aims to fix these issues, especially the Dino Digits Quiz reward bug.

Future Horizon installments confirmed by Guerrilla Games

Earlier this week it was revealed that Guerrilla Games Studio Director, Angie Smets, was departing. In a farewell to her, Guerrilla Games confirmed that a sequel to Forbidden West is in the works:

“We have full confidence in our new leadership as they steer Guerrilla towards a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project. Michiel van der Leeuw (Technical Director) will be focusing on the future technology and strategy for the Decima engine.”

While traditionally single-player, the Horizon series will get a multiplayer spin-off that is expected to be revealed by 2024. As of now, no details regarding the “multiplayer project” are known. Additionally, a PC port for Forbidden West has not been announced as of yet. However, considering that Zero Dawn was one of the first PlayStation exclusives on PC, it could be a matter of time before Horizon Forbidden West is on PC.
