Gautam Gambhir is back to his home side in the IPL and will be captaining them from this season after having a successful stint with the Knight Riders for seven seasons.

Gambhir’s return will bolster the hopes of the Delhi franchise, who haven’t had such a successful time in the IPL, and need a leader who has had the taste of victory and who can create an atmosphere for breeding champions.

The former Indian batsman is someone who has guided his previous franchise to two IPL wins, is known for his prowess as an opening batsman and has a brilliant cricketing intellect. Delhi are sorted with respect to captaincy issues that they have had in the earlier seasons.

And with the bidding being spot on this year, Gambhir feels that this could be Delhi’s year in the IPL.

Delhi have acquired the services of Trent Boult, who has been in blistering form for the Kiwis in the last 18 months, and Gambhir believes that Boult is the best left-arm pacer in the world, even better than Mitchell Starc.

“I believe Boult is the best left-arm fast bowler in the world right now. People do talk a lot about Mitchell Starc as well but Trent Boult on the given day can be as lethal as anyone else in the world. He can swing the ball at 135 Kmph.” Gambhir said.

Boult has already played under the stewardship of Gambhir, as the Knight Riders had bought him for Rs 5 crore in 2017, and the pair share a brilliant relationship on the field.

Delhi have bid brilliant squad for IPL 2018, with international stars like Boult, Rabada, Maxwell, Morris and Munro to grace the Indian capital.

Delhi fans would be hoping for a turnaround under Gambhir’s able leadership, as the franchise hasn’t seen much success in the initial 10 years of the IPL.

Do you think Trent Boult is better than Mitchell Starc?
