Goldberg returns to WWE: 3 possible opponents for Goldberg to face at Saudi Arabia

Goldberg returns to WWE : 3 possible opponents for Goldberg to face at Saudi Arabia; Who should the Legend face on his return to WWE?

On May 1st, WWE announced on its website that they would be returning to the city of Jeddah. They also confirmed the names of a few superstars that would appear on the show. One name among them has caught the attention of the wrestling world is Goldberg.

The WCW legend last wrestled against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33 in a losing effort. He has since been inducted in the Hall of Fame and has stayed away from in ring action. While it is still unclear whether he will wrestle in Saudi Arabia, fans around the globe are licking their lips at the possibility of the dream matches that could take place involving him.

Let’s take a look at the three opponents the Former World Heavyweight and WWE Universal Champion could possibly face should he return to the squared circle.

Brock Lesnar

Following his Universal Title loss to Seth Rollins at this years Wrestlemania, the beast is yet to appear on WWE. The Saudi Arabia event could very possibly be his return. Brock is without a storyline and an opponent at the moment. With both of them slated to be present at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on the 7th of July, a rematch between them is not out of the realms of possibility. The last time these two titans faced each other, Goldberg was the defending WWE Universal champion. They had an action filled five minute match complete with one big move after the other. Brock Lesnar went home victorious on that night. This could be Goldberg’s shot at payback.

The Undertaker

Believe it or not, The Undertaker and Goldberg have never wrestled against each other in their careers. The only time they have ever faced each other in the ring was during the 2017 Royal Rumble. The Undertaker eliminated Goldberg but beyond that there has never been any other interaction between the two. With WWE’s Penchant to advertise dream matches and gimmick matches (DX vs. The Brothers of Destruction, HHH vs. Cena, The 50 men rumble and The best in the World Tournament) to sell their Saudi Shows, there is every chance that WWE could finally let this two legends have a go at each other.

Lars Sullivan

Okay this one is probably a stretch but it is not entirely improbable. Even though Lars Sullivan has not been advertised for the show yet, it would make perfect sense for him to take on Goldberg. The humongous Sullivan seems to have taken over Randy Orton’s legend killer gimmick. Ever since his debut post Wrestlemania, he has attacked multiple WWE legends such as Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and The Hardy Boys. He has no story at the moment and beating a legend like Goldberg so early into his career will definitely give his character more credibility and provide WWE with a monster heel to rely on for the next five to 10 years.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
