Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has decided to skip the Valspar Championship, which will take place three weeks before the Masters Tournament, as per sources. Before stepping back from Copperhead Course, Woods backed out from the Players Championship as well, which displays a star-studded field with top-tier players like Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Wyndham Clark and the entirety of the best PGA Tour golfers.

Woods disengaged his name from the $25 million event, although he could get a chance to play at TPC Sawgrass through the 2019 Masters triumph. Woods’ last appearance was at the Genesis Invitational, which was his first start this year, but he ended up withdrawing on Friday due to flu and health concerns. Although, Woods promised to appear at one event a month, that dream seems impossible given the present condition of his health. Does that mean Woods will next make an appearance at the Masters Tournament?

Tiger Woods’ 2024 Golf Schedule In Dilemma Amid Health Concerns

The golf legwnd had been suffering several health issues since 2021 after he met with a car accident. During the 2023 Masters, he had to withdraw after the second round due to reaggravated plantar fasciitis. After that, the GOAT was bedridden and it took months of rehabilitation for him to come back at the Hero World Challenge in 2023. After that, he also participated in the PNC Championship and promised that he’d target one event a month.

But since the start of the 2024 PGAT year, Woods was aloof from the initial events. He returned at Genesis Invitational but he had to step back due to worsened health conditions during the week. After that, he only participated in the Seminole Pro-Member event, and since then there had been no positive update regarding Woods’ next golf schedule. As of late, he skipped from the field of the Players Championship and the Valspar Championship. Thus, that opens room for two other events.

Before the Masters, the Houston Open is one of the events that takes place at the end of the month but since Woods never participated at the event hosted by Memorial Park Golf Course, chances seem unlikely. That would bring attention to the Valero Texas Open, which is taking place a week before the Masters. But, he played this tournament only once, thus, chances seem bleak about this.

This scenario might also indicate that Woods is saving his performance for the Masters Tournament, which he triumphed five times previously. Apart from this, Woods backing out from the Valspar field was quite unexpected as he participated in the tournament six years back and finished at T2. Now, fans can hope to see Woods at the Masters, and the golf community awaits the moment.
