Hamilton accepts blame for ‘sore loser’ behaviour
Lewis Hamilton has had a troubled last 24 hours, losing out on a win at Silverstone because of a turn 3 tap from Kimi and then receiving a lot of blame for his comments about Ferrari’s tactics post the race.
Hamilton felt that Ferrari were actually conspiring against Mercedes by deliberating taking them out.
Raikkonen, Vettel and Ferrari were quick to respond to these ‘shameful’ comments from Hamilton and his team.
Raikkonen accepted that he had made mistake and that he was duly penalised for it. But he felt that blaming him for deliberately ruining Hamilton’s race was unfair and funny to some extent.
Vettel too felt that the whole discussion was kind of silly and pointless.
After a night’s sleep, Hamilton, who must have had time to recollect his thoughts, put out an Instagram story, saying that Kimi had apologised to him and that it was time to move on.
However, apparently the comments on his Instagram post/story have triggered another reaction from the Brit, wherein he has called out the fans that have ‘shit’ on his and his family’s name.
He also went onto accept the fact that his comments were that of a ‘sore loser’ and that he was determined to mend his ways from here on.
“I’m so disappointed with myself after yesterday’s race when I left you all with the perception of a sore loser, as I honestly don’t feel I am.
“And worst most of all, allowed you many the opportunity to shit on me, lay false claims to my name of which my family and I have worked so hard for.
“But you know what it’s okay. I can accept that I deserve it mostly and will try to do better and better” Hamilton said.
