The Chelsea CB has failed to get a clean bill of health for the encounter
Ever since his arrival at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel has identified a string of names to ensure his gameplan transpires perfectly at the club. And one such player was Thiago Silva with the Brazilian defender well known to Tuchel during the two’s time at PSG.
Silva has not only become a pivotal player for Tuchel but has also emerged as the mainstay of Chelsea’s defensive setup. Impressing in only inside his first season at the club, the player has taken centrestage owing to his ability to win aerial duels and tame attacking plays.
While Chelsea have not suffered massively in the time Silva has been out owing to his injury, the side would have yearned to have him back for their impending appointment. Liverpool can be a daunting attacking side, one Silva’s expertise would have come good against.
Silva Fails To Get The Go Ahead
However, the CB is set to skip Chelsea’s forthcoming matchup as well. Speaking ahead of the outing, manager Thomas Tuchel said that Silva was not going to travel to Liverpool despite being involved in training.
“Callum has no issue at all, full training. Thiago made his first training with the team but did not finish the last exercise, just to be taking no risk. I assume he trains today but not 100 per cent so he will not join us for Liverpool.
“Tammy had some problems with the ankle yesterday so we will see,” Tuchel said when quizzed about Chelsea’s injuries.
“I am enjoying it. I am tired in the evening when I go to bed which is a good thing. It is quite demanding, we have a lot to learn and many things to adapt. Personal life is not too easily, sitting alone in a hotel room so to live in this bubble it feels like a double or triple bubble but job wise, it is a great experience,” Tuchel added as he revealed how his first month at Chelsea had unfolded.
