I would choose the club where I feel most comfortable: RB Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi Reveals Why He Spurned Opportunity To Join Chelsea: Chelsea were extremely eager to rope in the player back in 2018
Prior to his switch from SpVgg Unterhaching U19 to RB Salzburg, Karim Adeyemi was a much wanted man. The wonderkid’s ability to work his way past tight spaces and come up with churching shots had seen him attract the eyes of a multitude of top clubs.
And one such side was the Premier League’s Chelsea. The London based side had made a serios offer for Karim with the side going as fast as to pay for his family’s travails to England.
However, the player had decided to opt for Austria’s RB Salzburg instead as he switched to RB Salzburg. And he’s thrived in the country, initially sent out at loan to Liefering before returning to RB Salzburg where he’s popped up with 11 goals in 25 matches.
Karim Adeyemi Reveals Why He Spurned Opportunity To Join Chelsea
The 18 year old Karim has now spoken about his move to the side and poured insight on why he decided to forego Chelsea’s offer.
“First of all, it is important to me that I play regularly,” the Karim told Sport 1 when talking about the reason for rejecting Chelsea
“My focus is currently on the Austrian league.
“I am very happy that I have so much time here. I am fully focused on the task in Salzburg.
“I don’t know how the clubs work; after all, I don’t know the people responsible. But I would choose the club where I feel most comfortable.
“It’s not that difficult to stay on the ground. I haven’t achieved anything yet, even though I’m now playing in the first division in Austria.
“But I find it – in quotation marks – quite normal that I do not answer. My parents and family support me a lot in this. My old Unterhaching club taught me that too.
“But even at Salzburg we players are kept on the ground. There is also no reason why I should rise above other people. All people are equal.”
