Fantasy Tips for KXIP vs RCB

It is being tipped as the Gayle vs RCB encounter, a match up that could re-ignite the wounded beast to give his utmost best for his present franchise.

And while there are a lot of subplots in this game, the major one remains the race to the playoffs. While KXIP seem to be in a better off position on the points table, sitting at 12 points, RCB are languishing at the bottom with just 8 points.

However, KXIP are coming off two crushing defeats and are short on momentum, whereas RCB seem to be getting into their groove in the last two games.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have started firing at the top of the order for RCB, and if they keep firing for the remaining playoff games, RCB should stroll through into the last 4.

Kings XI have had a slight stutter and will need to correct things as soon as possible, because the mid table teams could leapfrog them in the next few games.

The Kings XI middle order needs to fire as they have been rustic in the last few games.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in my side for this game.

There’s only one question that you need to answer for this game and that is the ‘Chris Gayle’ conundrum. Gayle hasn’t fired in the last few games for KXIP and is due for a big score. But is today the day? Maybe, as he will have that extra motivation against the franchise that didn’t retain him.

KXIP play two games in three days and hence I feel that I need to bring in at least one KXIP player in my side.

Two games on batting friendly surfaces warrant a place for Gayle in your side. Also, you’ll actually be forced to get him in, because if you don’t, and he goes big, he would cost you a lot of points in the table.

But there is a risk with Gayle. He might get dropped for the game against Mumbai Indians, if he fails to deliver with the bat today.

If you want to be a little ‘adventurous’ with your picks for this game, Andrew Tye could be a good option, considering that he is sure to play in the next two KXIP games.

Tye would however be up against two good batting sides and on two batting friendly surfaces and thus might end up going for runs.

Hence, Gayle seems like the most obvious and the safest of all choices.

Mujeeb has been one of the rising stars of this tournament, but again, he would be up against two fine batting sides and on grounds where even mis hits go way beyond the ropes.

For the uncapped player, I will get in Nitish Rana from tomorrow’s game between RR and KKR. I cannot get in a batsman from this game because of my team combination.

If you can, get in Manan Vohra(if he plays), else get in Mayank Agarwal.

Now, I already have Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, KL Rahul and Andrew Tye in my side for this game.

Chris Gayle would be my first choice for this game, for reasons already mentioned in the IPL Fantasy League section.

Now, in order to get Gayle in, I’ll have to transfer a 70k player into my side(in order to satisfy the budget constraints). .

No particular player from this game except Mandeep fits into that 70k bracket. However, Mandeep bats a little too low and might have very less to do if RCB bat second. Get him in only if RCB bat first, else get in Krishnappa Gowtham from tomorrow’s game between RR and KKR.

Batting Powerplayer- Virat Kohli

Bowling Powerplayer- Andrew Tye
