Ivan Rakitic upsets Lionel Messi fans with his recent Instagram post recalling World Cup 2018 memory

Ivan Rakitic upsets Lionel Messi’s fans with his recent Instagram post recalling when Croatia defeated Argentina by 3-0 in the World Cup 2018.

Lionel Messi fans are very reactive to any kind of statement towards their idol and they certainly don’t take anything against him lightly. The latest victim to it was Ivan Rakitc.

The Croatian International recalled his memories from World Cup 2018 on Instagram, in his post he posted photos back when the runners-up defeated Messi’s side by 3-0.

In one of the photos from the post thread, Rakitic has uploaded a photo in which he was able to bring his club captain on the floor, which has not gone well with the fans of the 32-year-old superstar.

This immediately brought a huge reaction from a section of Barcelona fans who admire Messi to the core. On the other hand, few are considering that this post by Rakitic might cost him his Barcelona career.

Many believe that Messi has a huge influence over the board and he might not take this well against himself. Rakitic is an already maligned figure at the Nou Camp with many fans believing his six-year stay at the club should come to an end in the summer.

Rakitic is already linked with many clubs and will most probably leave the club in the next transfer window. The Croat will enter into the final years of his contract with the Catalans, therefore the club might consider milking out some cash from his exit.

Coming back to Rakitic’s post, 2018 World Cup was a campaign to remember for Rakitic, he played a crucial role in his side reaching to the final of that World Cup.

But a crushing defeat against France prevented them to lift the cup in the end. Meanwhile, Messi had a disappointing campaign, even his side was knocked out by France in the Round of 16.
