AC Milan Touch Base With Chelsea Over Fikayo Tomori Deal: The Serie A league leaders have joined the hunt for the Chelsea defender
Discarded by Frank Lampard this season, Fikayo Tomori has over the course of the last couple of months been actively scouring for a new club. And with Lampard recently confirming that the club was looking to send the centreback on loan, Tomori’s pursuit is set to have only gotten hotter.
Fortuitously for the player, he doesn’t need to put in the long hours to rummage for a new side. There are a slew of clubs interested in indulging in the player’s services.
And Italian side AC Milan have joined that lengthy pile with the Serie A league leaders already opening contact with Chelsea for the starlet. Striving to bolster their ranks as they challenge for the glistening title, AC Milan have added Tomori to their set of defensive signings this window.
AC Milan Touch Base With Chelsea Over Fikayo Tomori Deal
According to Italian Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have made contact with the Blues hierarchy to enquire about Tomori’s availability.
However, AC Milan are set to make any serious advances only if they are able to land their first target, Mohamed Simakan.
Speaking earlier this week, Frank Lampard had asserted that things didn’t look too good for Tomori at the club. The CB who played 10 minutes in the FA Cup has not featured in the Premier League even once this term after partaking in 22 clashes last season.
“The situation with Fikayo is open at the moment. There is a possibility he could be going on loan to get games somewhere else. So that would have to be the solution for him and the club,” Lampard said when asked about the defender.
Leeds United and Newcastle United are both also said to be avidly monitoring the defender with Leeds United set to be progressing extremely well in their bid for the player. Any deal is likely to be on the terms of a loan with Chelsea unwilling to permanently lose out on the 23 year old English defender.
