Per Timesnownews, a BCCI official gave a timeline of how long Bumrah could be out of action. He said:
“Jasprit is out for a period of seven to eight weeks minimum. This effectively rules him out of the World Championship games against Bangladesh also. He is out till the end of November. That’s how his medical bulletin is at the moment,”
Bumrah last played for India in the West Indies series where he picked up 13 wickets becoming the fastest Indian pacer to reach 50 wickets. Both Mohammed Shami and Venkatesh Prasad achieved the feat in 13 tests each.
He played no part in the recently concluded T20 series that ended 1-1 after the first match was washed out. The 1st Test will be played in Visakhapatnam, the remaining two Tests of the series are scheduled to be held in Pune (October 10 to 14) and Ranchi (October 19 to 23).
