What has happened to Samoa Joe?

It’s almost been a year since Samoa Joe made his debut in the WWE. While Joe has had some good moments so far, it is fair to say that his run in the company has been underwhelming to say the least.

Joe’s match with Lesnar at WWE Great Balls of Fire last year was one of the best matches last year, as the WWE Universe really got behind the great Samoan.

Lesnar came out on top, but Joe came away looking like a million bucks, as he was one of the very few who took Brock to his limit.

Unfortunately we learn that Joe injured himself a couple of weeks back on Raw, and will be out until mid-March.

The Samoan’s latest injury ruled him out of the Royal Rumble, and puts a real wrench in his Wrestlemania plans for this year.

Joe was originally slated to face John Cena in a marquee match at Wrestlemania. But the big Samoan’s injury has prevented that match from happening, as it looks like Joe will only return to full action after Wrestlemania.

This is what Joe has to say about his run so far in the company,

“It really surprised me.” Joe continued, “there were a lot of ups and a lot of downs, but I felt really good about it, man. I felt really good about what we put out on television and a lot of programs I’ve been involved with. It [has] been very, very fruitful so far.”

“Nowhere is there so much focus being put on your ability to be a compelling character.” Joe continued, “WWE is very good at doing things that are advantageous. If you have the ability to go out there and get on a mic and be captivating, then they’re going to do everything in their power to support that ability and make it even bigger and seem better. I think that’s the thing.”

“In WWE, they’re real big on letting you sink or swim and they let you go out there and they’re going to give you the stick and a live mic in front of a packed house and millions watching at home and if you’re not prepared for that moment, you’re going to go down in flames. And if you are, you have a real opportunity to do something compelling for all the people watching.”

Could Cena vs Joe still happen though?
