Jon Moxley contract clause: The AEW superstar’s contract has a clause that leaves a WWE return wide open

Jon Moxley contract clause: The AEW superstar’s contract has a clause that leaves a WWE return wide open and could see him return to Vince’s promotion next year itself.

Jon Moxley surprised everyone when he made his debut for AEW in May. The unhinged superstar made his appearance at the conclusion of the main-event match between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. Moxley lay waste to Jericho and the referee. Omega attempted to stage a comeback but Moxley got the better of the cleaner.

It was then revealed that Jon Moxley had signed a 3 year contract with Tony Khan’s promotion and he signalled an indirect challenge to the WWE through a backstage promo.

Moxley has since appeared on Chris Jericho’s podcast and revealed that he felt suffocated working for Vince and believes that Tony is the exact opposite of the McMahon Patriarch. It seemed that Moxley had burned all bridges with the WWE however, reports have emerged that the former WWE champion could find himself in the opposite camp once again next year.

Wrestling website Rajah says that Jon Moxley has an opt-out clause in his contract which will activate after he completes one year with AEW. The clause leaves a WWE comeback wide open for Moxley who has the option to head back to Vince’s promotion if AEW doesn’t go as he hoped for. However, it makes for an interesting thought to see how willing would Vince be to take him back, especially after all the dirty laundry he has thrown since leaving.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
