He mentioned his disgust for being handed the promo that referenced Roman’s illness and how he deserved it for his actions with the Shield. Moxley went on to say that he was handed an even more crude promo about Roman that would have definitely lost WWE it’s sponsors and could have even got someone fired. He refused to say what the line was but said that whoever wrote it should be ashamed.
On Vince McMahon and his time in WWE
He expressed his disdain with his character being depicted as a fool. When he tried to speak to Vince McMahon about it, the WWE Chairman argued that the silly aspect of Dean Ambrose was the reason the fans liked his character.
Moxley told Jericho that he felt brain dead by 2016 itself. However, the final straw was the Rabies Injection promo in Milwaukee. Tired of how his character was being depicted and how little control he had over his character; the WWE Champion decided to run his contract down.
Moxley hoped that AEW’s drive and determination to produce something great would force WWE to change their ways. However, he cast a shadow of a doubt as he believes that ‘Vince will die in the chair’ and never change.
According to Moxley, Vince’s micromanagement and creative process is ruining WWE and that it left him ‘depressed’. On the other hand, the unhinged superstar expressed admiration for AEW President Tony Khan. He praised him for his passion for wrestling over McMahon’s obsession of sports entertainment.
