Kevin Durant feels it is James Harden’s time to be the MVP
James Harden has transformed the Houston Rockets into a title challenging team ever since he was traded to them in 2012. However, neither have the Rockets landed any silverware nor has Harden been able to get that elusive MVP award.
Harden has always been in the mix, but has fallen short because of other sublime performances in the league.
In 2014, a high scoring KD(32 point avg. throughout the season) broke away from the crowd of players contesting for the MVP award.
2015 proved to be another dissapoinitng year for Harden, on a personal and team front, as the Rockets couldn’t keep their stars fit for most of the season, and Curry ran away with the MVP, riding on brilliant individual and team performances.
2016 could have been Harden’s year, but Curry was in god mode that season, having the most efficient season in modern league history.
Curry won the 2016 MVP award unanimously!
Westbrook took the triple double figures a little too seriously last season, hitting 42 of them in the 16-17 season, breaking Oscar Roberson’s long standing record of 41 in a single season. He won the MVP award obviously, but Harden fell short by a whisker once again.
However, the current season Harden seems to be like a man on a mission, leading the NBA scoring charts and Rockets too benefitting from it, having their best ever NBA record until now.
Kevin Durant believes that it is Harden’s time now, having missed out on the award quite a few times in the last few years.
