Lionel Messi News: Thiago Silva accuses Messi of manipulating referees on pitch

Lionel Messi News: Thiago Silva accuses Lionel Messi of manipulating referees to give him advantages in games, says after last night match.

Amidst the match between Brazil and Argentina, Lionel Messi finds himself in a round of controversies. After Argentina’s win over Brazil, Thiago Silva has accused Messi of manipulating referees during the game.

The Brazilian International spoke to media after the match and has criticized while also claiming that his friends playing in La Liga have reported about the 32-year-old’s alleged habit on the pitch.

The PSG defender stated that Messi benefits from the admiration everyone feel for him, including the referees, to make and undo the decisions they make, “he wanted to command the game,” Silva said.

“He gave two balls, and the referee did nothing. He argued with the referee and he kept laughing. You have to put aside the admiration,” said the Brazilian.

“He always seeks to force the referee to give them foul situations or dangerous throws, and he always acts that way, We have talked with some players who play in Spain and the same thing happens, seeks to control the game, and mediate the referee’s decisions,” he said.

“In the Champions League, he doesn’t have that advantage because the referees are fairer. You don’t see him trying to send so much. There are referees, who out of admiration, start to get on his side. Since we didn’t have Neymar at our side, he is at a disadvantage,” said.

This comes after the backdrop of Messi getting involved in a spat with Brazil’s coach Tite, where the Argentine captain allegedly told him to shut his mouth during the game.
