Thus, with the end of the English transfer window, Manchester United’s hopes for landing Fernandes were also over. On the other hand, this compelled Manchester United to keep Pogba at any cost.
It is further reported that the Portuguese club have told Real Madrid that they need €80 million for the 24-year-old midfielder. However, this amount can be negotiated if Los Blancos play smartly.
Although, Sporting Lisbon have a contract with Fernandes till 2023, thus they have a huge control over the negotiations, which also made Manchester United to quit the negotiations.
With last 3 days left in the summer transfer window, Real Madrid can still fetch the player from the club, as Los Merengues have snubbed their focus on landing Neymar from PSG, and since the English transfer window is over, they do not have a threat from Manchester United to outbid them.
Zidane has already signed several superstars ahead of this season, in order to complete his aim of doing a massive squad overhaul. With Fernandes in place, Zidane will finally be able to complete his plan.
