Manchester City has demanded an apology from Bayern Munich’s president Uli Hoeness over his comments about transfers at the Premier League club.

Bayern Munich’s president Uli Hoeness stirred controversy during a financial press conference earlier this week.

He made comments on Manchester City’s transfer dealings, which seems to have now infuriated the Premier League club.

In a rather interesting statement, Uli Hoeness suggested that Guardiola compiles videos of the player who cost more than 100 million pounds for the Sheikh. The latter, in turn, raises the prices of oil to compensate on the transfer fee.

“My friend Pep told me what happens when he wants a player that costs more than €100 million,” Hoeness began.

“He puts some videos together of the player and goes to see the Sheikh.

“Once he is there, there is an opulent feast put on during which he teaches the videos to him and the money is transferred.”

Manchester City demands apology:

According to Mirror, Manchester City has demanded an apology from Uli Hoeness over his comments about Sheikh increasing the oil prices.

“It was the remark of a smug, arrogant egotist,” a senior source at the club said, as quoted by the Mirror.

“We are also concerned that there may be a racist element to what Hoeness has claimed,” the source added.

It is also likely that Manchester City may seek legal action if Hoeness fails to apologize for his comments.

Uli Hoeness and Pep Guardiola have worked together during the latter’s time at Bayern Munich. With Bayern, Guardiola won three consecutive Bundesliga titles but failed to lead the side to Champions League glory.

Many people also believe that Hoeness took a dig at Guardiola’s knack of spending big money at every club.

The Spaniard spent over 1bn euros throughout his football career, with almost half at Manchester City.
