Matthijs De Ligt Transfer News: Solskjaer takes massive transfer decision on De Ligt amid recent links

Solskjaer has taken a massive decision on Matthijs De Ligt as Manchester United links start to intensify.

Ajax Skipper Matthijs De Ligt is the most-wanted man across Europe currently. The center-back carried his boyhood club to two domestic trophies and semifinals of the Champions League in a dream campaign. He impressed every single scout over the last two years, and the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, etc took notes of him.

Even though many clubs were keen on him, only a few were able to match his and Ajax’s demands. The transfer fee is oscillating between €60 and 70 million, but since plenty of clubs battle out for him, the defender is yet to make a decision. Barcelona have intensified interest with the 19-year-old and had agreed on personal terms and a transfer fee with Ajax as well.

According to Guillem Balague, Juventus and Bayern Munich are the other two runners apart from Barcelona for his signature amidst links with United. According to the reliable Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils hierarchy believe that he is close to Nou Camp move.

De Ligt, 19, has liked former and current United players’ posts on Instagram in what is viewed as a possible strategic tactic to drive the price up amid United’s admiration. The club was interested when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club, but they are not planning for a transfer in the summer transfer window.

His agent is Mino Raiola, whose clients including Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have joined over the last four years. Raiola also convinced Romelu Lukaku in 2017, but the Belgian had switched agent last year.

The Red Devils do not enjoy a good relationship with Raiola, who offered Pogba to Manchester City to drive up the salary. Mkhitaryan endured a tough spell at Old Trafford, while Zlatan left the club last summer.

De Ligt is currently with his nation’s side ahead of the Nations League semifinals with England and has spoken about his future.

“I still don’t know anything about where my future is, so I see how it goes. First we have to play two games and then after that I will see what happens next.” said De Ligt.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..
