Maurizio Sarri: Chelsea officially announces Sarri's exit as he becomes new Juventus manager

Maurizio Sarri: Chelsea gave an official statement of Maurizio Sarri’s exit as Juventus announces him taking charge of the Italian outfit.

Chelsea have officially announced Maurizio Sarri’s departure as the Italian manger was already set to leave the Blues after several speculations of him joining Juventus.

All the two situations have come true as Juventus have also officially announced Sarri as their new manager from the following season.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: ‘In talks we had following the Europa League final, Maurizio made it clear how strongly he desired to return to his native country, explaining that his reasons for wanting to return to work in Italy were significant.

‘He also believed it important to be nearer his family, and for the well-being of his elderly parents he felt he needed to live closer to them at this point.

‘Maurizio leaves Chelsea with thanks from us all for the work he and his assistants did during the season he spent as our head coach, and for winning the Europa League, guiding us to another cup final and a third-place finish in the Premier League.

‘We would also like to congratulate him on securing the role as big as any in Serie A and to wish him the best of luck for the future.’

The Italian manager was in the radars of Old Lady, after they sacked Massimiliano Allegri from the managerial role this season. Hence, Sarri was most expected to replace Allegri at Juventus.

On the other side, Sarri reportedly wished to end his contract, even though, the Italian manager earned a third spot in the Premier league and won the Europa league by thrashing the city rivals Arsenal in the final.

However, Sarri falling out with Chelsea hierarchy is one of the main reasons for him leaving the West-London based club in the middle of his contract.

Additionally, it was also speculated that Frank Lampard is set to replace Sarri at the Stamford bridge dugout, after the Chelsea legend enjoyed a great season with Derby last season.

However, Frank Lampard to Chelsea is yet to be announced as the Blues are in the middle of negotiations with the former Chelsea player.
