Maurizio Sarri: Reports suggest Frank Lampard to replace Sarri as the Italian manger is set to leave Stamford Bridge for Italy this summer.
Maurizio Sarri is reportedly set to leave Chelsea, despite giving them a third place finish in the league and Europa league final this season, but he struggled to win the support of the fans.
Whereas, according to a report by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Chelsea will hire their former midfielder Frank Lampard from Derby to replace Sarri.
The former Blues’ player have gained recognition in the management after having a successful first season as a manager in the Championship.
Thus, the Chelsea board are happy with the success of Lampard and wish to bring him on the board for the managerial role at Chelsea.
The Derby manager has been lauded for giving chances to the youth players at his club including two Chelsea loanees on his books– Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori.
Hence, with transfer ban looming around Chelsea, the club management want a manager who can risk giving chances to their talented young players from the academy.
Additionally, the admiration of Chelsea fans for the Former Blue will probably help Lampard to settle with the job at helm.
On the other hand, it is further reported that Maurizio Sarri can join Juventus after the departure of former boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Further, while Paul Nedved has expressed his requirements for the new appointment and it slightly signals towards the possibility of hiring Maurizio Sarri.
‘The club will certainly make the best choice to carry on this winning squad. There will be some evaluations, we are in no rush and can take our time,’ Nedved told Sky Sports Italia.
‘It won’t be easy, we know this era can never be repeated, so it’ll be even more difficult.’ he further said.
However, some other reports also suggests that Filippo Inzaghi is also a contender for Juventus job and would be hired if Sarri remains at Chelsea.
Although, it seems that putting Lampard into this job is too early considering he is still raw as a manager and looking at the crisis in Chelsea, he could fail to stand up to the expectations.
Nevertheless, the further advancements are yet to be seen and most likely the final call by Chelsea will be taken after the Europa League final.

All I'm going to say is this. If we replace Sarri with Lampard and it all goes wrong not a single one of you should even think of criticising Lamps. All your frustration better be directed at Roman and the board because they would have put him in this job way too soon. That's all

*Chased Sarri the whole summer
*They get him and ask him to get us UCL football back
*He finishes 3rd in the league
*Very likely to win Europa League
*The club thinks of replacing him with Lampard, who's only had his 1st season in management pic.twitter.com/K5KbabKrfl

I’m on record saying Sarri deserves to stay, but it’s funny, SO many fans are saying it’s too early to hire (their top choice), Frank Lampard, and bashing Chelsea that it’s even a rumor, that we are ALREADY not welcoming our next (potential) manager.
This fanbase, lol.

What’s next?
Chelsea’s only hope for a silverware this season, lies with the Europa League final victory against city rivals Arsenal. whereas, Lampard’s Derby will face his former teammate John Terry’s side Aston Villa in the promotion play-off decider at Wembley next week.
