Maurizio Sarri to Juventus: Chelsea manager takes mammoth decision over his future at Stamford Bridge

Maurizio Sarri has decided to leave Chelsea as Juventus close in on him.

Maurizio Sarri is currently heading the shortlist for Chelsea in their managerial shortlist. The Blues manager recently lead to the Europa League triumph in the midweek, but Juventus are hoping to lure him to Allianz Stadium in the summer.

The Old Lady and Massimiliano Allegri came to a mutual consent following a disappointing outcome in the Champions League. On the other hand, it was an overwhelming campaign for the Blues as they won the Europa League and finished third in the league – the realistic target set by the board when he took over the club last summer.

Following the Europa League victory, Sarri’s agent Fali Ramadani had scheduled a meeting with Chelsea board at London. He pressed the issue to leave to Juventus and the battle is likely to won by Maurizio Sarri. The Italian International had asked Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia to leave the club, according to Sky Italy.

She has promised to the club’s owner Roman Abramovich about Sarri’s stance in this case. The owner is anticipated to come up with an answer soon as Chelsea fans nervously wait for the news. The deal is close and Sarri looks certain to join Juventus in the summer, according to the reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 60-year-old boasts a win percentage of 61.90 – figures which are below the as usual standards, but nothing more was expected in his first season at the club. He managed 63 games in this season and it comprises of 39 victories, 13 draws and 11 loses.

The report also added that Roman Abramovich is also assessing his options, with Frank Lampard being one of the names in the shortlist. It will be an interesting call as the Blues will be keen to hold their experienced candidate and not put their trust in an inexperienced manager during the transition period.
