Antoine Griezeman on Kylian Mbappe : The PSG man’s French peer was all praises for the hattrick hero
Taking on Barcelona for the first time ever in their stadium, all eyes were on Kylian Mbappe. Not only was he touted to spearhead PSG’s attack in Neymar’s absence but was also taking on Lionel Messi for the first time ever at the domestic circuit.
However, far from having jitters at seeing the world stage sit with awaited breath to watch what he was capable of, Kylian Mbappe ended up stamping his authority on the clash. Brining PSG back into the match as he restored parity in the 32nd minute, Mbappe went onto thump home a sumptuous match winning hattrick on the night.
Griezmann Left Smitten By Mbappe
Despite being routed by Mbappe, Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann ended up crooning accolades the player’s way.
Antoine Griezmann said: “Kylian Mbappe had a great night. PSG has a great star for the future, who will be at the level of Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford took to Twitter to praise Mbappe’s display, writing: “What a performance”.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino said of Mbappe’s performance: “There’s no doubt that Kylian is one of the best players in the world, despite his young age. He’s already done extraordinary things, but we have to stay humble.”
“Kylian shone tonight. Everyone is happy with his performance. When Kylian shines in the big matches, he makes the difference. He brought us this victory,” PSG captain Marquinhos said after the tie.
“Surely the result reflects how superior they have been. In the second half we had problems defensively. They proved physically to be very superior to us,” Barcelona’s Ronald Koeman said as he analysed his side’s thumping.
“We have to admit that they have been superior. They have shown that they have a more complete team than us. We have to accept it, improve things. We know that this can happen because we play against a great team. physical team, with experience.. for many things that is ahead of us..”
