Mesut Ozil on Leicester game: The former German international comments on Arsenal’s performance against Leicester City.
Arsenal extended their winning run to 10 games across all competitions as they beat Leicester City 3-1 in the Premier League. Unai Emery’s side also registered their seventh consecutive victory in the England’s top flight, and are 4th in the Premier League table, level on points with 3rd placed Chelsea.
Arsenal started the game unconvincingly and an unfortunate own goal from Hector Bellerin put them 1-0 down in the 31st minute. However, Arsenal recovered quickly and found the equalizer just before the halftime. Mesut Ozil brought the scoreline at 1-1 after the first half.
The former German international was influential for Arsenal in the game, as he was key to both the goals in the second half. A worldly through ball to Hector Bellerin allowed the left-back ample space to simply cross the ball to Aubameyang, who tapped-in to give Arsenal the lead.
Iwobi on Ozil: “I get the privilege to play with him every day. I’ve been training with him since I was 17 & I’ve seen what he can do. The quality he has is not just in training but as you can see last night, he’s a world-class player & he proved that again last night” #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/U1v9peQ0pg

The third goal was almost a gift to Arsene Wenger on his 69th birthday. Ozil deliberately skipped the ball for Lacazette, who simply played a through ball towards the space created by the German midfielder. It was a deja vu for Leicester defenders, as Aubameyang scored a tap-in in front of an open goal to make the score 3-1.
Mesut Ozil has now responded to Arsenal’s performance in the match:
