MI vs CSK Man of the Match

MI vs CSK Man of the Match: Mumbai Indians fast bowler was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his outstanding spell in IPL 2019 final.

During the final of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 1 run to become the first-ever team to lift four IPL titles.

Chasing a 150-run target, Chennai ended up scoring 148/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Opening batsman Shane Watson top-scored for CSK scoring 80 (59) with the help of eight fours and four sixes in an intriguing chase. While the veteran batsman tried hard to seal the chase, him getting run-out in the last over of the match saw the match turning on its own.

After MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, his team ended up scoring a mediocre 149/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Pollard, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the 13th over, top-scored for Indians scoring 41* (25) with the help of three fours and three sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-1-26-3, CSK new ball bowler Deepak Chahar was the highest wicket-taker for the defending champions.

MI vs CSK Man of the Match

Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah played an instrumental role in defending a 150-run chase. Bowling during crucial occasions in the match, Bumrah registered bowling figures of 4-0-14-2. Him dismissing Ambati Rayudu (1) and Dwayne Bravo (15) worked well for MI.

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Bumrah unveiled the fact that winning fourth title with MI makes him very happy. “Very happy. We know finals can be close, so wanted to stay calm. Winning fourth title for Mumbai makes me very happy,” Bumrah was quoted as saying.

Being asked about remaining composed in daunting situations in the match, Bumrah mentioned that he surprised himself with his efforts tonight.

“Today I was surprisingly very calm. Wasn’t panicking, just focusing on the next ball. Doesn’t help taking extra pressure, instead I back my skills,” Bumrah added.
