Just a few days after his sensational triple hundred, Mohit Ahlawat is set to undergo a trial for the Delhi Daredevils.  (Mohit Ahlawat gets a trial for an IPL side!)

This was confirmed by the CEO of Delhi Daredevils, Hemant Dua. Speaking to CricketNext, Dua said: “Yes, Mohit has been called for trials. We keep tapping young talent and scouting future stars. Walson will be there to keep an eye on the whole process”.

Mohit has been coached by Sanjay Bhardwaj who is also the childhood of Gautam Gambhir. Sunil Walson, who was part of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning side and is the Associate Vice President GMR Sports (Delhi Daredevils), will oversee the process of the Delhi Ranji cricketer’s trails.

Mohit became an overnight sensation after he scored an unbeaten 300 for Maavi XI against Friends XI in the Friends Premier League at the Lalita Park in New Delhi. (Mohit Ahlawat gets a trial for an IPL side!)

His 300* included 39 sixes and 14 fours and it took him only 72 balls to reach the landmark. The 21 year old has already played for the Delhi Ranji team in 2015, but failed to make a mark as a wicket keeper-batsman.

His coach, Sanjay Bhardwaj is glad that Mohit has got this chance. Although he has made a name in the T20 format, Sanjay believes that Mohit can go on to bigger and better things in the future.

He has a sound technique and is also an accomplished wicket keeper which is why Sanjay believes that Mohit will eventually make a mark in the longer formats of the game as well. (Mohit Ahlawat gets a trial for an IPL side!)

Even though it was a local, a triple hundred in a T20 match is an accomplishment to take note of. While it remains to be seen if this is the first step of something much bigger for Mohit, he can be pleased with the fact that he has got an opportunity to play on the biggest domestic platform in the world.
