Former Indian captain and veteran wicket keeper batsman MS Dhoni got a huge round of applause and a warm reception from the crowd when he came out to bat in the 2nd T20I against England.

Dhoni is certainly a favorite among the fans. He enjoys celebrity status that not many in the world can think of. Fans are absolutely crazy for him and can put anything at risk to watch their favourite batsman in action.

When Dhoni came out to bat, India over tottering after losing Rohit, Dhawan and Raina. Dhoni came out with a cap on his head in his typical style. However, given that England have only one spinner in Adil Rashid in their squad, he had to call for a helmet in the very next over.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma miscued a pull shot of Jake Ball as the ball went straight up in the air. Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler did not make any mistake as he safely pouched the ball.

KL Rahul came out to bat at Number 3 in this match as well. Soon Shikhar Dhawan mistimed a shot as the ball hit the inside edge and ricocheted towards the infield.

Dhawan was a little slow to get off the blocks and as he finally managed to reach the non striker’s end, he could not maintain his grip on the bat and was run-out.

As he entered the stadium, the crowd went berserk for him. Chants of ‘we missed you, we missed you’ could be heard throughout the venue. It must have been a very emotional moment even for the legend who is visiting the place after the 2015 Champions Trophy.

England has indeed been lucky for India and Dhoni as well as they won the 2013 Champions Trophy in the country under Mahi’s leadership.
