Rahim’s message on Virat Kohli’s 10,000 ODI runs: The Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman showered respect on the Indian captain.

Reactions regarding Indian captain Virat Kohli becoming the fastest batsman ever to score 10,000 ODI runs just doesn’t seem to stop. Given the occasion and the man involved, you don’t expect them to stop either.

Kohli had achieved the feat during his 37th ODI century against Windies in the second ODI of the five-match series at Visakhapatnam yesterday. The thriller of a match that it was, it ended up in a last-ball tie.

Since completing the feat in first innings yesterday, Kohli had been receiving a plethora of congratulatory message from fans and former cricketers from across the world.

Having achieved the milestone in 204 innings, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 258 innings comprehensively. The Master Blaster took to his Twitter account in the evening, praising Kohli’s intensity and consistency.

Former Bangladesh captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim too joined the list of well-wishers for Kohli. The 31-year old Bangladeshi cricketer also took to his Twitter account to speak highly highly about Kohli.

“Congratulations to one and only sir virat kohli for reaching 10k runs in blink of an eye.”

Mushfiqur Rahim tweeted yesterday.

Over the years, Rahim has been a fierce rival on the cricket field. However, messages such as these speak highly of his personality outside of the field. In the 21 ODIs that he has played against India, Rahim has scored 604 runs at an average of 35.52 and a strike rate of 75.21, including one century and three half-centuries.
