“Prayers for the Family”: Tony Stewart Shares Tragic News as NASCAR Fans Stand in Support
Ashlea Albertson, a young racing driver belonging to Tony Stewart’s TQ Midget racing team, lost her life in an unfortunate road rage incident. The incident took place on the northbound lanes of the I-65 at around 11:30 am, in Jackson County. Following the tragedy, the three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion shared a message on social media announcing what had transpired.
Smoke also urged fans to join him in keeping the driver and her family in prayers. Soon enough several fans within the NASCAR community banded together and sent messages of condolence.

Stewart shared a post along with pictures of Ashlea, saying, “Today, I lost a teammate.@AshDogRacing had an infectious personality and could light up any room. She was a great race car driver that was involved in a road rage accident and lost her life.”

As per news reports, 24-year-old Ashlea Albertson lost her life after suffering injuries from the two-vehicle crash. Apparently, the two cars had been speeding up and trying to block each other from passing. This led to them colliding. Furthermore, after their car lost control, Alberston was ejected out of the vehicle.

It did not take long for the NASCAR community to band together and share the moment of despair along with Stewart. They expressed how this was a sad thing to see happen to someone, while others prayed for Alberton’s family.
