Naughty Dog's Next Game Reportedly is The Last of Us Part III; Details Inside

According to a prominent leaker, Neil Druckamnn’s next project could be The Last of Us Part III. There are a few things you should know.

TLoU franchise is getting more and more attention these days due to the HBO series, The PC release, and now this. A prominent Twitter leaker claims that Neil Druckmann(Naughty Dog Co-President) plans to make the third part of the franchise. We assumed no game franchise would be complete without a trilogy release. Even though it hasn’t been teased yet, fans are taking it seriously, which raises some concerns.

The Last of Us Part III; Is it Too Early?

The Tweet above is from a well-known leaker and claims that the next pet project for Druckmann is the third part of the franchise. Even if that is the case, we think it is too early for the third part. Why? There are a couple of reasons. Firstly, a lot of TLoU content is already coming out in 2023. We know the game won’t release in 2023 or even 2024, which is a safe bet.

Fans might get fatigued by the franchise if there is an overload of content. When Neil Druckamnn appeared in Script Apart, he told the viewers that the Script for the Last of Us Part III was already done. That is a significant reveal since fans were already baffled by the claim. The fact that Neil confirmed the existence of Part III means a reveal might already be in the works. Possibly in the next year’s Game Awards.

This franchise will have a prominent future going forward, no doubt. However, Naughty Dog will skyrocket due to the number of successful projects it has pumped out. Uncharted to Crash Bandicoot and The Last of Us, Naughty Dog will definitely be a sales topper in the future as well. The Last of Us HBO series releases on January 15th, 2023, while TLoU Part 1 comes out on PC on March 3, 2023.
