Shaquille O’Neal, renowned for his dominance on the basketball court, also had a legendary reputation for his love for women and his charismatic approach to wooing them. In his early years as a 21-year-old NBA star, Shaq’s magnetic personality attracted countless admirers. However, during a memorable party hosted by Prince in 1993, the young Shaq encountered an experience that left him humbled.

In the presence of the iconic musician, Big Diesel realized that even as a superstar, he was still just a young man. Surrounded by the extravagance of the event, Shaq revealed his awe in his book Shaq Talks Back. As he witnessed 20 girls catering to the “Purple Rain” singer’s every whim.

In 1993, Shaquille O’Neal was one of the biggest names in sports. An unstoppable force that established himself as one of the NBA’s best after just one season in the NBA. And, what comes with such success is extreme levels of superstardom.

Well, that year, the NBA decided to hold the All-Star Game in Minnesota. Not exactly, a big market city, but a great city nonetheless. But, as it so happens, the All-Star Game wasn’t the only attraction in Minneapolis that year. Pop legend Prince was also in town that very weekend. His Royal Badness happened to be hosting a huge contest at his club Glam Sham.

A contest to find “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”. As it happened, Shaq was in the club during that event. Prince decided he wanted to meet Big Diesel and invited him to his room upstairs, and what the big man saw left him shocked. Twenty of the “finest” girls combing his hair, doing his toes, feeding him grapes, and some standing incredibly still, almost like mannequins.

“I go upstairs. Prince got the finest girls I ever seen in my life, feeding him grapes, combing his hair, doing his toes. All of them were just looking at Prince. They weren’t even looking at me. I guess Prince was saying he was gonna marry the most beautiful girl in the world, so he had girls from everywhere just trying to impress him. He even had some girls acting like mannequins, standing stiff the whole time.”

 

It certainly was a sight to behold for a young Shaq. But, he had his fair share of affairs with women as well, some of whom were quite famous worldwide.

Known for his charisma and larger-than-life persona, the basketball Shaquille O’Neal’s affairs with women garnered significant attention. Whether it was his marriage to reality TV star Shaunie O’Neal or his subsequent relationships with the likes of Nicole Alexander, Laura Govan, Dominica Westling, and Karrine Stefans.

Ultimately, it was his promiscuous behavior that earned him a reputation as a womanizer. A reputation he has now abandoned.

The Big Aristotle has made significant changes to his life since that time. His last reported relationship was in 2018 with Laticia Rolle. Now, the Hall of Famer seems more attentive toward his work and his children.
